The Big Picture – Non-Eco-Friendly Food Packaging is an area of concern with Eco-Conscious consumers because of its very short lifespan from the point of purchase to disposal. As consumer awareness grew so did a growing demand by consumers and food providers for Eco-Friendly packaging materials that are recyclable, bio-degradable and compostable. At a record pace more and more food producers have sought out paper packaging solutions to replace plastics and polystyrene packaging which are so prevalent in the market.
Further, Corporate America and Global Companies are responding to consumer demand for products that reduce the use of natural resources, while minimizing climate and environmental impacts. Plastics and micro-plastics in our water systems and oceans have led to great concern about petroleum-based plastics being used in food packaging and beverage containers. The trend is moving to renewable and sustainable paper solutions and away from plastics.
